Our team of engineers, at all levels, work with the business leaders in defining the product roadmap and come up with innovative solutions to grow the future of travel. We design and develop our back end systems and REST APIs that serve hundreds of millions of searches a day, collecting and parsing data across thousands of partners to get the best deals for our customers.

In this role you will get to:

  • Help drive mission critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business

  • Innovate with an agile team that continuously experiments, iterates and delivers on new product objectives

  • Strong skills in communication with the ability to describe abstract concepts to both technical and non-technical personnel. Skills in producing and explaining architectural diagrams to various audiences.

  • Apply your knowledge of the GCP or other Cloud Environments across a wide variety of data sets and domains, demonstrating capabilities in streaming and batch processing.

  • Use your knowledge of development languages such as Python, Spark, Java, SQL, etc.

  • Work with other motivated and talented team members to produce high quality data products that will be used across the PCLN business landscape from Product Lines (Air, Hotel, Rental Car, etc.) to Operational Groups (Marketing, Customer Service, etc.)

  • Develop new capabilities and data products for the PCLN that will substantially improve PCLN’s business position in the marketplace.

  • Expand your skill set and understanding across the entire development process from requirements through user acceptance testing.

  • Provide support to existing data products and processes as required.

  • Contribute to team best practices for all aspects of the Development Lifecycle.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Experience working with large data sets and complex data environments.

  • Ability to understand team dynamics and contribute to team efforts in a constructive manner.

  • Experience with Data transformation, Cloud programming, languages such as Python, Spark, Java, etc. and preparing corresponding documentation.

  • Strong experience with SQL and ability to work with advanced SQL functions.

  • In-depth knowledge of Relational Databases and exposure to Cloud computing, Machine Learning and Data Science.
