Why this job’s a big deal: 

This individual will serve as an integral member of a team responsible for Priceline's general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.  

The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of his/her work. A successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and across Booking Holdings. Prior experience working with multiple currencies and intercompany is desired.  In this role, the individual will safeguard existing internal controls and will suggest improvements.  

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist in ensuring for all aspects of intracompany and intercompany transactions including recording, reporting, elimination, and settlement.

  • Liaise with accounting teams across all Booking Holdings’ brands to ensure intercompany elimination.

  • Understand all intercompany relationships, including but not limited to revenue share and cost-plus arrangements.  

  • Assist with documenting internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks.

  • Team with other members of the GL team to implement the Blackline intercompany module.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries primarily for intercompany transactions as well as other tasks

  • Prepare reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis.

  • Assist in completing our monthly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet accounts

  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Contribute to special projects tin order create a more efficient and controlled environment (e.g. automation, ERP implementation, etc.)

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Experience with Oracle, BlackLine and OneStream desired

  • 4+ years of related professional experience, preferably with a GL team of a US Multinational Company or Big 4 accounting firm. 

  • Preferably Qualified Chartered Accountant

  • Excel proficiency required

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
