In this role you will get to:

  • As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team you will drive mission critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.

  • Work across teams to develop/design solutions, mentoring & coaching junior engineers, automating a process, or solving a critical issue.

  • ​​Be part of a cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates and delivers on new product objectives.

  • Develop & Configure software and lead hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, and optimize large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tole.

  • Implement SQL composition skills that collects and queries data for investigation and analysis in real time from our monitoring applications. Actively deploy and support hundreds of servers and several applications running on our private and public cloud environment.

  • Collaborate with development teams to support the current environment as we transform our cloud architecture and provide resources “as a service” to developers.

  • Reduce manual intervention and turn-around time to solve repetitive problems while automating and monitoring the health of Priceline commercial website. 

  • Work with the latest and greatest technologies and architectures, like Serverless ,Edge Computing, Service Mesh and Kubernetes. 

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development. Experience with Linux infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in one or more of these scripting languages – Shell, Ruby, Perl & Python scripting. 

  • Working experience with AWS or any cloud infrastructure. (AWS is preferred)

  • Working experience with service mesh architecture.

  • Experience in application autoscaling in AWS is a plus

  • Experience with patching Linux systems using AWS patching manager.

  • Experience with implementing system monitoring and alerting. (Having Cloudwatch and Datadog experience is a plus) 

  • Experience in API Gateways and API Management Platforms

  • Experience in APM monitoring tools such as NewRelic

  • Experience in configuration management tools such as Chef

  • Experience with Terraform Infrastructure provisioning tool

  • Experience with databases such as MongDB, Mysql, Redis, Couchbase.

  • Experience with documentation tools such as Confluence. 

  • Familiar with large scale production systems and technologies, for example load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management. 

  • Familiarity with data caching concepts

  • Familiarity with CI and CD processes. (have used any/all of the follow AragoCD, Jenkins, Github is a plus)

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure scalability issues. 

  • Passionate about automating and improving processes.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $120,000 USD
