Why this job’s a big deal:
As the Legal Operations Assistant, you will report into the Senior Manager, Legal Operations and work directly across the Legal Team and with other key collaborators, including across the Booking Holdings family of brands, to ensure that Priceline’s corporate and legal objectives are met. You will also create and run operational processes to ensure our Legal Team is efficiently delivering on critical and high value matters across Priceline. The role requires an organized, detail-oriented, and highly efficient individual with great interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
In this role you will get to:

Process improvement: Find opportunities to improve processes, be aware and share best practices, develop playbooks, training and improve efficiency across the entire legal team.

Litigation & Third Party Dispute Support: Provide cost effective litigation and third party dispute support and e-discovery processes and policies, including responses to third party subpoenas and other document requests. Manage escalation and delivery of third party dispute notices. Implement and manage effective processes for legal holds and coordinate with the Compliance Program Director on records retention.

Intellectual Property Portfolio Management. Oversee portfolio of intellectual property and work with outside counsel as needed to maintain portfolio and advance strategic IP needs of the company.

Project management: Define roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and timelines for project tasks. Coordinating the activities of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.

Company Secretarial Services. Assist lawyers with new entity creation or dissolution, as required, Oversee and manage ad hoc and recurring corporate filings and licensing requirements for regulated services, in relation to Priceline companies in the US and abroad; manage Know Your Customer requests in collaboration with other departments. Partner with the parent company corporate secretarial team on entity management requirements and oversee appointed corporate agent (CSC). Maintain corporate organizational charts for Priceline group companies.

Technology: Implement and handle technology solutions to optimize legal performance, including contracts and matter management tools, expense, budget and vendor tracking software and other systems and databases utilized in legal and across the company.

Contract Management: Support legal and business teams in management of lifecycle of contracts from inception, through negotiation, to close, including managing templates and facilitating the company’s contract management technology, contract tracking, record-keeping, and administering contracts in the contracts management database.

Group-wide partnership: Facilitate communications and deliverables between Priceline’s Legal Team and our parent company and sibling brands to help ensure deliverables, obligations and strategic goals are met.
Who you are:

Bachelor’s Degree required
-
2+ years of experience as a legal assistant, paralegal or contracts manager, or comparable legal administration and/or management

Experience standardizing legal & regulatory processes and administering contract and legal matter management systems, or comparable administration and process oversight experience

Experience managing various administrative tasks with ease, ideally of a legal or regulatory nature, including ideally experience of working across different jurisdictions and with different cultures.

Ability to read, understand and draft contractual terms using a standard playbook; experience in redlining and negotiating agreements and in managing legal invoices

Strong Word, PowerPoint, G-suite and Excel skills

Prior experience with relevant legal, project management and operational tools (ideally including Conga, Legal Tracker, Jira, Salesforce, Confluence, Docusign, and GEMS , but not required)

Prior experience working directly with key partners throughout an organization including senior leadership, commercial sales & marketing, customer service and HR

Good judgment, high integrity, and strong communication skills

Comfortable operating under pressure

In-house experience in a technology company legal department a plus

A strong multitasker. The ability to effectively work across various time zones and balance challenging demands is critical.

Ability to problem solve, demonstrating creative and independent thinking to independently find answers to day to day practical issues.
