Product Mgmt & Design
Our Product Design and Management teams work tirelessly to understand what our customers need and make it a reality. They’re the ones who make our deals come to life and our user experience simple and intuitive.
The Product Team at priceline is seeking a Product Manager with equal parts tech and customer focus to work on our Flights product. Position is based in our Norwalk, CT office with 1 day per week travel to our NYC office.
The flight product team is responsible for the full-stack product, from connectivity to the airlines all the way up to the browser. This role will focus on supply connectivity, core business logic, and distribution to B2B customers via our APIs. Ideal candidates are comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders to understand and prioritize connectivity and API needs, as well as working directly with engineers on technical design and debugging. Must thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We aim to release products often with constant iteration and reliance on quantitative and qualitative metrics to help define further optimizations and enhancements.
What You’ll Do:
Spend time in quantitative and qualitative data, understanding user behavior, industry trends, and supplier needs.
Work with internal and external stakeholders (internal such as supply, finance, marketing, external such as content providers – GDS, Airlines – and the Airline Reporting Corporation) to implement and optimize features and connections in order to ensure priceline has the best flight content and that it books smoothly.
Define product specifications, establish milestones, and manage design, development and QA for your cross-functional scrum team of 6-8 people, and be accountable for delivery of product by this team.
Research, troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend solutions to complex business and technical problems.
Continuously propose new A/B tests to improve conversion and engagement. These tests can be at the web or API layers.
Be the glue! The product manager holds an organization together – it is part of your job to communicate often with all team members.
Get your hands dirty. We are a lean team and there is no job too big or too small. Some days you will be planning the strategy for the next quarter, and other days you will be diving into database records to troubleshoot an issue.
What We’re Looking For:
4+ years experience as product manager with at least 2 working with a full-stack or backend engineering team to deliver APIs or similar technology/SaaS solution products.
Experience balancing and prioritizing the needs of internal and external stakeholders
Experimental and data driven approach. Strong analytical skills. Able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend action plans to resolve issues
A high-EQ people-leader who builds and maintains strong team culture and stakeholder relationships.
A self-starter who is confident and able to move projects forward with little direction, while communicating regularly to impacted parties, and remaining in alignment with team best practices.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills – from product specifications, to JIRA tickets, to stakeholder presentations
Experience with Google Analytics and basic SQL
A desire to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment with multiple responsibilities.
Experience working in airline/GDS a plus.
Demonstrated history of living the values important to priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
Why you’ll love working with us:
Changes you drive will impact millions of travelers every day, giving your work great exposure and purpose. Our volumes also allow us to learn from AB tests very quickly.
You and your scrum team will be fully enabled to accomplish your roadmap without dependencies on other teams.
The Flights team has a strong team culture – you’ll be part of an organization that cares about their product as well as each other.
