Priceline is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst for our Hotels business unit. This role will be responsible to execute and improve upon priceline’s strategy for Hotel pricing & competitive intelligence.
This role will influence and challenge pricing decisions made within the Strategic Pricing and Analytics Team by delivering insightful analysis, predictive models and innovative strategies.
Our mission is to deliver the best travel deals available to our customers. This role is critical for us to fulfill this mission.
The ideal candidate for this role has prior pricing experience in an e-commerce or retail environment, strong analytical skills with an excellent track record of execution.
Execute and improve upon priceline’s strategy for hotel pricing & competitive intelligence.
Learn, upgrade and automate various pricing initiatives within priceline, partnering with the Marketing, Finance and other analytical teams.
Partner with the Product and Technology Teams to migrate our Merchant Hotel Pricing Platform to our new Deal Engine.
Develop innovative solutions and techniques to ensure priceline’s pricing remains competitive, profitable and innovative.
Influence and challenge decisions made by the team through timely & insightful analysis and modeling.
Identify appropriate reports to support decision making, recommend and build enhancements to our pricing reporting infrastructure.
Strong analytical, statistical and problem-solving skills are required.
Strong, hands on SQL experience, preferably with Oracle/Hadoop, but other relational databases are OK.
Experience building or enhancing reports using Tableau and/or Excel.
Experience working with Hadoop strongly preferred.- Experience working with R/Python strongly preferred.
Modeling techniques and methods.
A ‘can-do’ attitude and a passion for analytics/data.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Takes responsibility for results, “owning” assignments and projects.
Education:- Bachelors’ Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics and at least 4 years of experience in analytics, consulting or technology.
Demonstrated history of living the values important to priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
MBA / Master’s Degree and at least two years experience analytics, consulting or technology.
Experience in data science, market research, travel & e-commerce experience desired.
