Why this job’s a big deal?

As the Director, External Communications you will lead all external Communications initiatives for the Priceline brand, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer. You will maintain a high level of visibility internally within the organization, working closely with key business leaders across the company, including the CEO.  Individualize The PR & Communications team strategically manages all aspects of the brand’s communications initiatives from vision and strategy through resource management and execution.

In this role you will get to:

  • Drive consumer brand PR & Communications strategy, manage agency resources to elevate brand awareness for Priceline products and services
  • Draft communications messaging and presentation materials, create thought leadership positioning, and create a standardized process for Priceline’s participation in public-facing events

  • Identify new areas of opportunity to drive positive earned media for the Priceline brand through traditional, digital, and social media channels

  • Maximize impact by effectively by developing and utilizing paid, earned, and owned media channels

  • Oversee all media relations, from the development of proactive consumer campaigns to the efficient reactive management of direct inquiries

  • Align internal and external communications initiatives to positively promote brand, consumer, and employee messages to all core audiences internally and externally

  • Maintain the department’s Editor-in-Chief role managing Priceline’s earned media content strategy, external-facing Media Room website, and ensure timely and relevant dissemination of news and content across all platforms

  • Develop a consistent and comprehensive measurement approach to track 1) volume and sentiment of earned media exposure, as well as direct traffic and engagement as a result of external Communications efforts; 2) employee engagement and sentiment as a result of internal Communications efforts

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 6+ years experience in Brand Communications with a demonstrated focus on consumer PR

  • Proven experience in traditional media relations and digital media communications

  • Leadership experience and an ability to set and guide communications strategy and execution

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to self-edit and write compelling copy

  • Ability to craft and tell stories from summarized data and work with analysts to pull insights from data

  • Forward-thinking in identifying new communications methods, technologies and strategies and resourceful enough to implement new ideas, technology and software quickly

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high volume, high priority initiatives

  • Demonstrated history of living the values important to Priceline:  Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics
