As a Director – Infrastructure & Operations you will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), Compute and Network engineers, Cloud Infrastructure development and DevOps Engineers, as well as corporate IT Support Engineers. The different teams in our Mumbai office are integrated with the U.S based team and its members join the daily standups as well as any other project management ceremonies.You will work closely with the team managers in the US office to accomplish Priceline's technology and business goals, service the needs of our development community through the day-to-day operations, and to develop a high performing team. You will help your reports to be successful and highly engaged and together build a team which provides quality services to our internal and external customers around the world.
In this role you will get to:
Have a high level understanding of our solution and applications to be able and determine the right path for execution/resolution, when asked by your team for direction.
Continuously think of improvements – from incidents resolution and recurrence prevention to development efficiency, and service management. And bring those improvements to life.
Take ownership of SLA for compliance control and response to security breaches through our infrastructure.
Our Development Teams require support to the Dev and QA environments, as well as the frameworks and tools. Our non tech employees require Corp IT support for their tools. Our production environment is a complex 24×7 operation.
The local Infra and ops team members will be responsible to support the above on IST timezone, If prioritization is required for incoming asks/issues during that time zone – you will be making it.
Own the service levels through IST timezone.
Be the go to person for your employees for both technical and direct management issues
Be a great partner to the Infrastructure and Operations team leads in the US – make sure their requests are delivered while setting the right expectations for deliverables
Together with the team leads in the U.S., set the quarterly goals and perform the quarterly reviews.
Last but NOT least – Be a great People’s Manager, working to make your employees successful.
Who you are:
Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science from a reputed University
Strong and proven experience in Process Mapping and Transitioning knowledge between geographies
Communicating clearly and effectively with peers, stakeholders, and management.
Excellent Organizational and Analytical skills
Proven Infrastructure and/or Operations teams management experience ( ~ 15 years) preferably in a complex technology environment such as e-Commerce.
Experience in managing large teams of 30 and more across multiple technologies
Loves and takes pride in being hands on and up-to-date in Technology
Experience in managing a local team integrated with a remote team.
Has worked in Onshore-Offshore Model across US/Europe and India
Familiarity with a variety of Network, Compute, and Cloud Technologies. (Google Cloud and/or any Cloud Certification in a plus)
Familiarity with a variety of monitoring and analysis tools – (Splunk and New relic a plus).
Experience in Advanced Java Technologies (like Microservices and Kubernetes) and Data Engineering Technologies.
Some experience with Scripting or Programming language
Global and Cross Cultural experience preferred
Building and setting up teams from scratch preferred
