Paying employees accurately, timely and in compliance with labor laws is a top priority at Priceline.  The payroll department is looking for an experienced payroll professional to handle all things payroll  for our rapidly growing office in Mumbai and beyond.

In this role you will get to:

Bring your knowledge of payroll processing, tax and local labor laws to ensure that the payroll is processed  properly and is in compliance

  • Collaborate with P&C on policies and best practices

  • Review all new hire ppwk for accuracy and completeness and create a process to increase efficiency in this area.

  • Review payroll output prior to finalizing 

  • Answer employee inquiries related to payroll

  • Be the main contact with third party payroll provider 

  • Follow up with employees regarding tax documents needed for annual reporting and updating

  • Process employee benefits deductions and ensure tax treatment is correct

  • Create tracking/reporting system for OT/Holiday/Shift pay hours worked to ensure timely and accurate payments

  • Review, reconcile and maintain tax filings

  • Review options for payroll service provider and implement a new, more cost effective payroll service or reduce costs with current provider as some functions can move in house

  • Review/calculate Full and Final Settlements for terminated employees and release payments as required

  • Assist with calculations for Gratuity payments and accruals

  • Assist employees with Provident Fund and NPS – review contributions/payments/answer payroll related questions.

  • Take on other International Payrolls – for example UK and Germany  

  • Prepare monthly accounting entries and respond to inquiries from accounting

  • Create reports for both internal and external requests 

  • Leverage Workday (HRIS system) in preparation of monthly payroll processing

  • Review, create and document payroll processes to increase efficiency and eliminate errors

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 5 year of experience in payroll

  • Associates or Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • Have a strong degree of knowledge of tax and labor laws related to payroll

  • Have a good understanding of of Pension and Benefit plans

  • Possess strong collaboration skills to effectively influence policies and best practice

  • Comfortable working with HRIS systems and integration files

  • Have a high degree of proficiency with Excel

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Ability to be an effective team player and display initiative

  • Ability to to work independently 

  • Possess strong analytical skills and are detail oriented

  • Ability to prioritize work-load to meet tight deadlines 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
