The incumbent’s success will depend on their ability to conduct operations analyses, identify business opportunities, analyze large data sets and solve varied business problems. This individual will collaborate with business units and engineering teams to understand and prioritize company needs and devise possible solutions based on business use cases. They should be able to recognize that streamlining and improving internal and external processes is key to the success of the organization.
In this role you will get to:
Create and present detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for a business
Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
Carry out and lead ad-hoc analysis and present the results in a clear manner
Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
Improve systems by studying current practices; recommending/designing modifications
Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedure
Experience in implementing setting up reporting dashboards instrumental in critical business decision making process
Proactive, adaptable and resourceful with a pragmatic, solution focused approach to people issues
Able to work independently and on own initiative, making informed and sensible judgements as well as working as part of a wider team
Must be able to communicate ideas and analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing to both a technical and non-technical audience
Who you are:
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
Advanced experience with designing and enhancing Tableau reports & data visualizations
5+ years previous experience in a Business Analyst or Business Intelligence role
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
Certificate of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) Asset
Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse environment
Must have advanced level Microsoft Excel skills – Including advanced formulas, also Word and Email
VBA macros an asset
Excellent research and analytic skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to multi-task, focus and complete reports for extended periods of time
Demonstrates Decision Making/ Complex Problem
Solving- proactively gather the right data from appropriate sources, probe/consider all the facts, consider other perspectives; conduct root cause analysis; refer to long term plans and goals; prioritize key factors; act decisively, promptly and confidently
