Senior Accountant:

Why this job’s a big deal

This individual will serve as an integral member of a team responsible for Priceline's general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, and to safeguard the integrity of Priceline’s reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of their work. A successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline (examples include the product teams – hotels, flights, cars, and packages – as well as marketing, customer care, technology, and others) and third-party partners.

In this role you will get to:

  • Record monthly journal entries, primarily, but not limited to, items impacting revenue

  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis

  • Provide guidance and direction to the staff accountant responsible for the monthly accrual process

  • Ensure adherence to the accrual policy

  • Oversee monthly accrual meetings with the G/L team, FP&A, and various departments within Priceline

  • Liaise with different departments to facilitate the accrual process and to understand and describe financial statement fluctuations

  • Prepare monthly variance explanations for income statement and balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks

  • Respond to requests from risk and controls, internal audit, external audit, and Booking Holdings, Inc

  • Provide support for the interim and year-end audits

  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise (e.g. automation, ERP implementation, etc.)

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 3-6 years of related professional experience

  • Excel proficiency required

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple departments to achieve goals

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated history of living the values important to Customer, Innovation, Team,

  • Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.

  • CPA or CPA eligible

  • Experience with Oracle, BlackLine, SAP 4/HANA
