Why this job’s a big deal: 

Reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel (International) Priceline, you will be at the forefront of Priceline’s global expansion plans in Flight and Travel Technology, instructing and implementing regulatory advice from  across the globe, with a particular emphasis on Canada, Central and South America, as part of a highly entrepreneurial and dynamic international team. 

In this role you will get to:

  • Help to shape the international growth of the company through advising the business on corporate set up and regulatory licensing  for new business opportunities in a number of jurisdictions.

  • Where required, execute a new company or representative office set up for Priceline in new markets, in collaboration with sister brands in the Booking Group.

  • Collaborate with Booking Group sister brands on regulatory and tax advice.

  • Work cross-functionally every day; working closely with Finance, Tax, Business Development and Product in growing the business internationally.   

  • Collaborate with the Legal Operations Manager and Programme Team in delivering process improvements to expedite ‘go to market’ plans.. 

  • Support the Associate General Counsel (International) and the Business in working with International Air Transport Association (IATA) on the accreditation process in different markets and on general Booking Group airline business..

  • Advise People & Culture on international employment matters from time to time, particularly in Canada and LATAM.

  • Partner with Priceline colleagues at all levels of Priceline, including senior executives and building a close working relationship with our growing offices in Canada.

  • Work closely with the lead of international tax at Priceline in seeking tax advice internationally, in parallel with the regulatory advice. 

 

Who you are:

  • 10+  years of international legal experience as a Canadian qualified attorney, ideally with initial training or from a highly reputable law firm..

  • Experience working in-house in a regulated industry, ideally the travel industry (although experience in  another regulated sector may also be very useful).

  • Having experience working in a global environment on global projects  is mandatory.

  • Excellent legal analytical and presentation skills.

  • Ability to confidently engage with Product, Treasury, Finance , Tax, People & Culture  and Business teams.

  • Fluent French is very useful. 

  • Have a good understanding of different provincial laws and federal regulations in Canada. 

  • Excellent organizational skills in order to run with multiple assignments simultaneously.
