Why this job’s a big deal:

The incumbent’s success will depend on his/her ability to build a deep understanding of how hotel rooms are described to curate output from our machine learning-based platforms.  The individual will work with a small team reviewing machine learning-driven recommendations for grouping similar hotel rooms as well as ensuring related imagery and content is best-in-class.  The individual will collaborate closely with our data scientists / machine learning engineering teams to understand current methods and provide feedback to improve our platforms.  He / she should also recognize and recommend process improvements to gain efficiencies.

In this role you will get to:

• Review machine learning-generated hotel room recommendations for accuracy

• Update machine learning-generated hotel room recommendations when machines predicted incorrect answer

• Manage property- or room-specific terms that are unique for each property

• Review related hotel room imagery and amenities for accuracy and completeness

• Carry out ad-hoc analysis and present the results in a clear manner

• Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; assist writing specifications to improve systems by studying current practices; recommending/designing modifications

• Leverage reporting dashboards instrumental in the critical business decision making process

Who you are:

• Detail-oriented professional who demonstrates a depth and breadth of analysis process, techniques and methodologies

• 3+ years previous experience supporting complex solutions in a related role such as Quality Assurance or Business Analyst

• Demonstrate sound work ethic

• Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of stakeholders in a diverse environment

• Proactive, adaptable and resourceful with a pragmatic, solution focused approach to people issues

• Able to work independently and on own initiative, making informed and sensible judgement as well as working as part of a wider team

• Effective communicator of ideas and analysis results both verbally and in writing to a technical and non-technical audience

• Excellent research and analytic skills including use of spreadsheets 

• Very high attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to focus and complete tasks for extended periods of time

• Demonstrates ability to make complex decisions and creative problem solving
