In this role you will get to:

  • As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team you will drive mission critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.

  • Work across teams to develop/design solutions, mentoring & coaching junior engineers, automating a process, or solving a critical issue.

  • ​​Be part of a  cross-functional agile team that continuously experiments, iterates and delivers on new product objectives

  • Apply your programming skills towards building low latency and high throughput transactional services.

  • Develop & Configure software and lead hands-on technical expertise to design, deploy, and optimize large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tole

  • Rant systems. 

  • Implement SQL composition skills that collects and queries data for investigation and analysis in real time from our monitoring applications. Actively deploy and support thousands of servers and hundreds of applications running on our private and public cloud environment in multiple geo locations.

  • Collaborate with development teams to support the current environment as we transform into a cloud architecture and provide resources “as a service” to developers.

  • Reduce manual intervention and turn-around time to solve repetitive problems while automating and monitoring the health of Priceline commercial website. 

  • Work with the latest and greatest technologies and architectures, like Serverless ,Edge Computing, Service Mesh and Kubernetes. 

Who you are: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development. Experience with Linux infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in one or more of these scripting languages – Shell, Perl & Python  scripting. 

  • Working experience with GCP or any cloud infrastructure.

  • Working experience with service mesh architecture, like Istio or Anthos is a plus

  • Experience in application autoscaling in GKE using HPA.

  • Experience in one CDN service .Ex:Fastly. (Having Rust programming language is a plus)

  • Experience in API Gateways and API Management Platforms, like Apigee is a plus

  • Experience in APM monitoring tools such as NewRelic

  • Familiar with large scale production systems and technologies, for example load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management. 

  • Experience in configuration management tools Ansible. 

  • Experience with Terraform Infrastructure provisioning tool 

  • Experience with at least one modern client-side JavaScript framework or library is a plus (React, Angular, NodeJS) 

  • Deep understanding of infrastructure scalability issues. 

  • Passionate about automating and improving processes.
