Senior Database Engineer

You will have hands-on experience on a variety of database platforms like MySQL, Oracle, Cassandra, memorystore moving to Google cloud native data services. You will be working on hundreds of not thousands of databases with multiple product and infra teams to support billions of transactions each day. With the most advanced data technologies at your fingertips, you will leverage data to understand, meet, and anticipate the needs of our customers.
In this role you will get to:
MySQL and Oracle, Postgres database administration including configuration/replication/backup on Linux platform.
MySQL and Oracle, Postgres database instance performance and SQL tuning
Automating tasks with shell and python scripting, and Ansible developer skills.
24×7 support in MySQL and Oracle, Postgres environment.
Google Cloud data platform migrations and support
Coordination cross multiple teams for customer excellence
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science, or related industry or equivalent training and experience
5+ years of work experience in MySQL and Oracle, Postgres database administration required
Expert in MySQL and Oracle, Postgres Database Administration, replication, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup/recovery and database security
Fluent in Linux environment, shell scripting or python programming.
Experience with some public cloud provider, like Google Cloud Platform preferred; but not mandatory
Work independently under general direction, influence the team with best practices.
