Why this job’s a big deal: 

This individual will serve as an integral member of a team responsible for Priceline's general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries; account reconciliations and maintaining Indian entity’s statutory ledger.  

The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of his/her work.  A successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and across Booking Holdings. In this role, the individual will safeguard existing internal controls and will suggest improvements.  


In this role you will get to:

  • Prepare journal entries for activities related to Priceline India (PTI) and Priceline US.

  • Assign GL coding to vendor invoices on Concur and enqueue them for approval by the designated approvers.

  • Perform timely reconciliation of Cash and bank balances to ensure that these are ready for the monthly close.

  • Prepare and maintain vendor master for PTI as well assist in new vendor onboarding process. 

  • Liaison with the AP team in the US on the vendor payments and ensure timely resolution of their queries (if any).

  • Prepare monthly TDS (Withholding tax) and GST workings for review by the seniors as well the tax consultants.

  • Prepare, reconcile and file quarterly TDS (Withholding tax) returns.

  • Prepare, reconcile and maintain GST Input Credit Register for filing of monthly GST refunds as well as availing tax refunds from the authorities.

  • Assist in maintaining a separate ledger for statutory reporting of PTI.

  • Coordinate with tax consultants on an as need-based basis to ensure timely compliances.

  • Proven ability to work with multiple currencies.

  • Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks.

  • Provide support for the interim and year-end audits.

  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise (e.g. automation, ERP implementation, etc.).

Who you are:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant 

  • 4+ years of related professional experience preferably with a GL team of an US MNC.

  • Excel proficiency required

  • Having basic knowledge of Direct and Indirect Indian taxation laws

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated history of living the values important to Customer, Innovation, Team,

  • Accountability and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.

  • Preferably Experienced with Oracle, BlackLine, SAP 4/HANA, OneStream
