Why this job’s a big deal?
As a Data Scientist of Customer Database platform, you will take the lead of getting Priceline’s ML capabilities to the next level, developing advanced analytics, statistical, econometrics, and machine learning models to implement the strategy of new products or initiatives, as well as helping to redefine the data over different platforms.
Data Mining: develop a quick understanding of diverse data sets, from Google Analytics, App data (localytics), Rudderstack, Kafka, etc. to power your own models.
Data Analysis: Leverage data analyses, modeling, and visualization tools such as R and/or Python, Oracle SQL, BigQuery, Tableau, and others.
Data Engineering: build data structures and pipelines, and partner with Data Engineers to build and maintain the data infrastructure.
Communicate with Senior Leadership: Because of the impact of our team you will have a high-profile role with regular interaction with senior management where you will communicate your vision and execution, particularly with the directors of the product teams.
Develop Your Practice: You will gain understanding of operations management, machine learning and analytics to keep ahead of the market and avoid issues to ensure continued success.
5+ years of data science and/or analytics experience building quantitative and/or machine learning models. Travel / flight / ecommerce industry experience preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from top university in a quantitative subject (e.g., science or math).
Experience in Python and/or R along with their associated ML/AI Libraries. BigQuery/GCP, Tableau, and Excel experience are nice to have.
Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in presentation writing tools (e.g., Power Point, Slides).
Have experience in developing frameworks and performing gap analysis. Project management and work structure skills – excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Hands-on, extensive knowledge and experience working with large databases, data mining and business intelligence tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate sophisticated concepts in a simple way to senior leadership is a must.
