Contracts Manager, Procurement and Vendor Contracts
This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.
Our People & Culture and Legal teams make sure we provide a highly ethical working environment where everyone at Priceline can bring their whole selves to work and deliver their very best each day. We want you to thrive – to feel safe, supported, valued, and growing to your highest potential!
Why this job’s a big deal:
As the Contracts Manager – Procurement & Vendor Contracts, you will join a small but mighty team of Legal Operations experts and partner closely with our senior attorneys, business stakeholders and other key collaborators, including across the Booking Holdings family of brands, in support of Priceline’s global procurement contracting initiatives . Reporting to the Manager of Legal Operations, you will oversee the entire end-to-end contract lifecycle and ensure that vendor contracts for all business units are routing efficiently and are in compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You’ll establish yourself as a trusted partner, primary point of contact, legal subject matter expert, and risk manager for your business partners, supporting business goals while maintaining the highest ethical standard and getting to “the Right Results the Right Way”. You’ll also assist with contract redline and review, playbook creation and optimization, and drive process improvements that will help the Legal Team efficiently deliver on high volume and high value matters across the company. The role requires an organized, detail-oriented, and highly efficient self-starter with great interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
In this role you will:
-
Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle process for Procurement and Vendor contracts across the organization, including assisting with contract review and negotiation. You’ll own the prioritization process and ensure all contracts are progressing from contract creation to execution and that CLM data is accurate and complete.
-
Work with legal and business teams to review, redline and provide negotiation support on high volume vendor contracts, most of which are on third party paper. Ensure contracts are moving efficiently towards activation while also carefully managing Priceline’s risk and identifying where additional escalations are required.
-
Work closely with third party contract administrators supporting day-to-day management of contracts flowing through the CLM, and act as primary point of contact and first-line escalation for business users’ most common contract-related requests.
-
Drive efficiency by improving on current contracting processes, including partnering closely with counsel and business stakeholders to create contract playbooks and negotiation strategies, and simplifying and standardizing legal language to facilitate self-service. You’ll also identify knowledge sharing and reporting opportunities, and ensure new and existing users of our contracting tool set have the training they need to be successful.
Who you are:
-
Have your Bachelors or Associates or equivalent work experience related to law, business planning, or finance; JDs welcome but not required. Please note this is not a Counsel role.
-
At least 5 years of experience as a Contracts Manager with contract redline and negotiation experience. In the event experience is in the Procurement/Vendor Contracting or In-house Technology space, 3+ years experience can be substituted.
-
Demonstrated experience redlining and negotiating contracts and partnering with attorneys on playbook development and template standardization.
-
Prior experience working directly with key partners throughout an organization, including senior leadership, tech, commercial sales & marketing, finance, customer service and HR. Experience doing so in a sophisticated procurement function is a plus.
-
The ability to effectively work across various time zones and balance and prioritize multiple challenging demands is critical. Comfortable operating under pressure in a high volume, global environment and demonstrated experience balancing conflicting priorities. Strong multi-tasker and self-starter with ownership mentality an absolute must.
-
Demonstrated experience with legal technology and adjacent project management and operational technology (e.g. Google workspace, Conga/Apttus, Jira, Salesforce, Excel) required; experience implementing new platforms a strong plus.
