Why is this job a big deal?

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, Priceline is looking for a talented, engaging, and agile commercial lawyer, ideally with regulatory and corporate experience, to work on global commercial and regulatory matters in support of Priceline’s flights business.

In this role you will get to:

  • Support the Priceline Legal team and Priceline’s global Flights business team on commercial deal negotiations with airline and travel service provider partners, in the APAC region and globally.

  • Liaise with external counsel and advise on travel and other regulations in a number of different countries in order to understand and satisfy local operational requirements, such as licensing and International Air Transport Association (IATA) accreditations in different markets.

  • Develop as an advisor to internal business clients, gaining experience in an extremely broad range of legal and business topics (e.g., Commercial, Corporate, Finance, Tax) on a global basis.

  • Have the opportunity to work closely with Finance, Sales and Operations in growing the business internationally and expanding the reach of the Priceline flights business.

  • Research and execute company or representative office set up for Priceline in new markets, help build Priceline’s international network, in collaboration with sister brands in the Booking Group.

  • Partner with Priceline colleagues (and colleagues in other companies in the Booking Group around the world) at all levels of the organization, including senior executives.

  • Manage a small team of legal professionals in the Mumbai office, including individuals with functional reporting outside of Mumbai in areas such as privacy, legal operations and contracting.

Who you are:

  • 4-6 years of legal experience as a qualified attorney, ideally a couple of years’ of training or experience at a highly reputable law firm in India or abroad.

  • In-house commercial contracting experience.

  • Excellent legal analytic and drafting skills.

  • Prior management experience.

  • Prior experience with commercial contracts with travel supply agreements – ideally flights-related suppliers (such as airlines, consolidators and global distribution systems (GDS)), is a plus. 

  • Regulatory experience in the travel industry is also a plus, although this is not an absolute requirement.

  • Ability to confidently switch between commercial, corporate and regulatory work.

  • Excellent organizational skills in order to run with multiple deals simultaneously.
