Associate Software Engineer_Developer Tooling & Ecosystem
As an Associate Software Engineer on the Developer Tooling & Ecosystem team, you will design, integrate, and operate the systems that power Priceline’s development lifecycle.This is a hybrid role that blends the following:

This team owns and operates the ecosystem that powers engineering velocity, quality, and experimentation. Our portfolio spans the platforms, services, and processes that enable teams to build, test, release, and iterate effectively, including (but not limited to):

Engineering tooling strategy, evaluation, and lifecycle management

Source control, code quality, and continuous integration practices

Containerization and local development environments

Content and localization enablement for product delivery

In this role, you will get to:
Developer Tooling Ownership

Own and operate enterprise engineering tools across the SDLC

Manage lifecycle of tools: evaluation, onboarding, integration, optimization, and sunset

Partner with vendors to influence roadmap, resolve escalations, and optimize contracts

Ensure security, compliance, and access governance standards are met
Systems Integration & Automation

Design and maintain integrations between core systems (CI/CD, SonarQube, LaunchDarkly, Contentful, Smartling, Luciq, etc.)

Build automation that reduces manual workflows across engineering
-
Standardize identity, provisioning, and permissions across tools
-
Improve cross-platform interoperability and data flow
GenAI & Intelligent Tooling
-
Evaluate and integrate GenAI platforms (Cursor, ChatGPT Enterprise, agent-based editors)

Define guardrails and governance for AI-assisted development
-
Measure productivity impact of AI tooling adoption
-
Build internal extensions or automation layers on top of AI platforms
CI/CD & Code Quality Ecosystem

Maintain integrations with SonarQube, Mergify, Docker Desktop, and related tooling
-
Define organization-wide standards for code quality, PR automation, and merge governance
-
Improve developer feedback loops through intelligent automation
Performance & Reliability Tooling

Own performance monitoring tool integrations
-
Standardize reporting frameworks for performance and release quality
-
Ensure observability and telemetry across engineering systems
Reporting, ROI & DevEx Measurement

Establish reporting frameworks to measure:

Tool adoption
-
Usage efficiency
-
Cost vs. value
-
Developer productivity signals
-

Drive DevEx360 metrics and insights

Present ROI and optimization opportunities to engineering leadership
Onboarding & Enablement

Design and maintain onboarding programs for new engineers

Standardize development environment setup (IDEs, Docker, access provisioning)

Create golden-path documentation and self-service tooling
-
Improve time-to-first-PR metrics.
Who you are:
-
2+ years of engineering experience Java/Python
-
Experience working with CI/CD, code quality tools, or developer platforms
-
Strong systems integration mindset
-
Experience building internal tools or automation workflows
-
Understanding of identity, access management, and enterprise tool governance
-
Strong cross-functional communication skills
-
You think in ecosystems—not isolated tools.
